Tropical Hosting uses limited browser storage and, only with your permission, third-party analytics and live chat services. You can decline optional cookies without losing access to the website.

Your choice remains on this device until you clear browser storage or change it using the “Cookie settings” button. Withdrawing consent prevents future optional tracking; third parties may retain data already collected according to their own retention policies.
Hosting data and backups
Tropical Hosting's servers are located in the United Kingdom. To protect against data loss, the files in each hosting account (the contents of your site's web space) are copied once a day to off-site backup storage operated by our storage sub-processor, Akamai Technologies, Inc. (Linode Object Storage), in its London, United Kingdom region. Data is transferred over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. These hosting-account file backups are kept on a rolling basis and are automatically and permanently deleted once they are more than 30 days old.
An index of the file names and sizes contained in each backup is also stored on our own servers so that you can review what a backup contains from your account dashboard. You can restore any available backup yourself from the dashboard; restoring replaces the current contents of your site's files with those from the chosen backup and cannot be undone. Databases are not included in these file backups.
If you store personal data in your hosting account, that data is included in these backups. You remain the controller of the content you upload, and Tropical Hosting processes it only to provide, secure and back up the hosting service. Our own company website and support-ticket records are backed up to the same London-based storage sub-processor.

Your rights
